Baby Doll Bat and Ball

The laughter was flowing last night.  I turned off all social media devices, phone, laptop etc and decided to observe my girls long and hard.  Their conversations and investigations in life were amusing.  I suppose they were getting along so well because they felt my calm happy state.  I left my worries in the office.

We were sitting on the porch waiting for the rain when Steve pulled up an hour early.   It was a nice surprise!  We sat on the porch and watched the girls play chase in the yard.  Then the rain came.  Not a lot just a good solid sprinkle.  They ran to the porch and stripped down.  Wowza.  I let them go since they just did that at Grammys, except for the undies.

Their game of chase turned into tackle the baby.  The poor baby doll they brought out was flung across the yard and they ran full speed to tackle her.  Obviously the one who got her first won.  Then they found a ball.  Steve took the baby and used it as a bat to hit the ball into the yard, and then he chucked the baby.  The girls ran wild chasing them down.

It was hysterical if not a bit odd.  I’m glad they are tough but I wasn’t happy at all when H hooked her younger cousin around the neck and flung him to the ground.  It was a little embarrassing and begged for the “only act like that with Daddy” conversation once again.

Anyway here are a few pictures I was able to capture with my phone only when I decided to turn said devices back on for a pic or two!

Hit the ball now flinging the doll

Running

And tackle

Hahahahaha! A baby doll bat!! When I was little, and inspired by the Summer Olympics, I used to fling my dolls in the air and across the yard for their floor routines. They flipped a lot better if you held them by the hair to do the toss. About turning off devices: I have always been amazed at what fun, creativity, and bizarre stuff results from restricting Z’s use of anything electronic or that has a screen… washing a jug full of pennies and spreading them out on towels covering every surface in the kitchen (while I was at work)…. pulling out the enormous storage containers of legos to make a colorful larger-than-life rifle the size of a small tree.
