Life IS Easier When You Can Carry Two – TwinTrexx2** Giveaway!

When I had H and L over five years ago, I didn’t know double carriers existed so I either carried both or used two individual carriers; not often but I did go down that road.

This time around there were certain things I wanted, needed, to make this twin first year easier and one of those items was this amazing twin carrier by TwinTrexx.   I actually found out about it through Stuff 4 Multiples and once I got hooked up with them I was introduced to a whole world of multiple stuff.

I received my TwinTrexx2 a few weeks ago and I AM IN LOVE!

Initially it was a bit confusing to figure out because there are so many ways to use the TwinTrexx2 but as soon as I calmed down from my crazy internal excitement, we were able to figure it out.

It is important to have someone there during the first go around as a spotter to make sure everyone fits snuggly in place and that nothing goes wrong.  I can officially sling them in each position myself now.

First and foremost, I am a HUGE proponent for company etiquette so I need to give a quick shout-out to Stuff 4 Multiples and TwinTrexx2 for how wonderful they are to work with!

Now, onto the product; the first thing I noticed was the material.  It was soft, thick and very durable. The straps were wide and gave great support without digging into my back or shoulders, just cushion.

A few of my favorite features are:

  1. It’s NOT bulky.  That is huge when wearing two babies in the summer
  2. The design really took into account where the baby’s face will be.  No matter where the girls are looking the buckles/snaps do not poke into her face as you’ll see in the photos coming up
  3. Roomy front pocket.  I can easily fit my phone, keys and small flat wallet

There are six, 6, yes six ways to use the TwinTrexx2; single front (facing in or out), single back, one on front and back, and double in the front (facing in or out).  If I am alone I can manage both or when Steve is around he can carry one and so can I.  That’s a major bonus!

Shall we review?

Let’s start with the basic single front and single back positions.  Simply adjust the carrier to your comfort and load the baby preferably while sitting for safety reasons.  (I recommend this with any and all carriers and please know I sit with each loading and unloading.)

When using the carrier in the front position the straps should always cross in the back.

Next is the front/back combination carrier.  If you can put them on one at a time you are all set.  Front goes on first followed by the back.  While the girls were perfectly fine in the back, I have never felt comfortable with this.  I like to see my babies at all times BUT that is just a personal preference.  The babies on the other hand LOVED being in the back.

As you can see above I put the babies in their carriers, put the front on first, sit the back baby on the chair and sit myself before hoisting her onto my back.

Lastly and my favorite is the front/front.  When the girls are facing out they are giggling non-stop and when they are facing in they are so relaxed and content.

This position was a little challenging at first to get a solid grasp on fit.  I am pretty petite so there was a lot of tugging on straps to get a solid, sturdy fit and we pulled the straps all the way in order to feel secure.  It’s not difficult by any means it just took a few tries until that light bulb went on for me.

Now I can do and undo without issue but honestly once you get the hang of it you don’t need to undo.  Just put it on and take it off like a vest.

When I initially posted a photo of me and the babies on my Facebook page, one comment was, “really it’s cute and all but what can you really do with both of them on you like that?”  Another warned, “Be careful, they are totally going to knock you off balance.”   So I’ve compiled a montage just for those wondering what I can actually do with both of them on me:

Do the dishes…

Ooooh balance…

Pose with a vicious pit-bull…

Put the baby toys away…

Lastly and most importantly continue to get the job done….

I still haven’t taken it to the grocery store or the beach but that is next!

Now all of that is great but my favorite and the one thing that makes this product completely worth every penny is when my babies aren’t feeling well; whether the sniffles or teething, I can hold them both.

twintrexx2

Nothing soothes a baby like being held by her mother but with twins that can be a difficult task; the TwinTrexx2 carrier makes this task possible. My big girls were the same way hence the times I used two single carriers.  Now I can load them both up in the front, facing in and rock them until they either fall asleep or calm down, feeling safe and happy.

**After a couple comments were made about hip issues I spoke with a few people in the medical field and would like to remind people to please use these products according to proper instructions.  Also it is better for baby to face in so their legs can wrap around you and not dangle freely; that situation alleviates pressure on the hips.  Forward facing when the legs dangle freely make cause pressure or issues on the hips if carried for long periods of time.

  1. I would love to win this carrier, it would help me tremendously. I have 6 month old twins and a 22 month old as well and its VERY difficult to go anywhere, however with this carrier I could easily strap on both of the twins and put my son in the shopping cart or have him hold me hand while we walk and make like far less chaotic!!!!!!!

  2. Your babies must be lighter than mine! I’ve got a twin Trexx 2 and hate it. So diggy on my shoulders and the backache was murder. Swapped for a pair of Ergos and so much easier and comfortable. Plus better position for the babies’ legs and hips.

    • They are about 15 lbs each; not tiny:) I’m sorry you hated yours. I do love mine. While carrying big twins all day isn’t ideal it doesn’t seem to bother me when I do use it for an extended time. At least not any worse than any other carrier I’ve tried. I didn’t notice the position being any better either but they seemed so comfortable I didn’t really notice but I’ll check it out more closely and compare to my other carriers. I’m glad you found what works for you and your babies.

    • Agreed! I absolutely hated this carrier! It hurt my back and had zero head support! I would never recommend it. Ergos quality and comfort is a million times better!

  3. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this carrier. I have a moby and wear both the girls in that but it is way too hot for the summer and unless I get the wrap just right it can be very uncomfortable for my back and shoulders!

  4. I would love to win this ! Expecting my twin girls in the next few weeks and we just found out last month our almost 3 year old is Autistic . My biggest worry is that I won’t have my hands free with carrying two babies and keeping my son safe from wandering off at the same time . My husband also serves in the military and I am home by myself quite a bit, having this will really help me get things done and relieve the stress I have about having 3 children and only 2 hands available . Winning this would mean the world to me.

  5. Omy goodness I could really use this! I have almost 6 month old twins and it’s really hard to get anything done. Plus for when we want to go hiking this would be awesome!

  6. We just brought home our identical twin boys after 35 days in the NICU. I don’t have any family near me to help out when my husband goes back to work this would be a great help to get things done.

  7. This would be so convenient for my 5 mth old twins!! Having three older kiddos, it’s hard to go out and about! I wouldn’t have to take the double stroller and push a shopping cart at the same time!!! Lifesaver!!!

  8. I have been wanting one of these for a while, just have not had the extra cash to get one at the moment. I have twins, who turn 1 tomorrow, and another baby due within 2 weeks-so one of these would be a lifesaver for my husband and I! Hope to win-if not going to have to make a serious effort to purchase, especially after this review!

  9. I’m so happy to see this product. I have newborn twins and a 3 year old whose nickname is Zippy! Just this morning I was trying to figure out how to take them all on a walk. This looks like an amazing product, I’d love to win it!

  10. I could benefit from the TwinTrexx2 by getting more down around the house, like cleaning up or checking important emails.

  11. Horrible carrier! Extremely uncomfortable! Cheaply made and no head support!
Also I wasn’t allowed to return it!! Ergos are so much more comfortable for everyone! My babies hated it too!

  12. I do child care in my home and now I am expecting twins. This would help me to keep working and rolling as things come with my way as I mother my children and earn an income to support my family.

  13. This would be so great – I carry one at a time in my líllébaby carrier and I always feel bad for her twin sister.

  14. This would be perfect for when we go shopping so I don’t have to rely on others to come assist with the twins and my older daughter.

  15. I’d love to win! I have 6.5 month old twins B/G. This carrier would make our lives much easier!
thanks for the opportunity to win 🙂

  16. I would be forever grateful for this, we have 2.5 year old fraternal girls and 10 day old B/G twins 🙂 I need all the help I can get carting babes around while chasing after the girls!!!! Thanks so much 🙂

  17. Winning this carrier would mean gaining a little bit of freedom. Even if it’s just for a little while. I’m a first time mom, to identical twin girls. Being able to get out by myself with the girls would be great,.the twintrexx carrier would allow me to do that and not have to rely on anyone but myself!:)

  18. This would be great for when my triplets come! It would make it so much easier to have the two in the holder and then put one baby in a stroller 🙂

  19. Love the comments. I have a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and now 4 month old twins. Extra hands would be nice. I love my Moby, but they are just getting too big. Crossing my fingers.

  20. do you honestly like this thing? I have have it and I can’t figure it out. also, the lack of lumbar support / carrying around almost 38lbs of baby is distressing to me.

    • Not anyomore. I use the Twingaroo now and love it. I also like to wrap but the Twingaroo is very supportive. I only used the TwinTrexx@ when they were little definitely not now.

  21. I would love to have one of these I’m a grandmother right now I have my daughter’s 6 year old and 4 year old and 2 year old and 1 1/2 year old she is in the army and in July I will get her new baby boys right now I use a double stroller not sure how when I get the boys.
