Random Thanks – TToT

Ten Things of Thanks

  1. I am thankful that I am about 3 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight even if my stomach looks like the old-tan-smoking-hag from Something About Mary
  2. I am SUPER thankful that J sleeps for six hours a night most nights
  3. I am thankful for a husband that brings home good beers so I can enjoy one a night
  4. I am BEYOND thankful for parents who are involved in my life and help so much with all my kids
  5. I am thankful to my buddy Jim who gave me months of freelance work- shouldn’t have come at a better time since I won’t be able to go back to teaching until the fall
  6. I am thankful for stupid humor.  This photo I came across on Facebook has been cracking me up all week  pen is broken
  7. I am thankful that our sweet dog, Lola, has epilepsy instead of a brain tumor
  8. I am thankful that my babies had a wonderful one month checkup and that they are growing furiously; almost 10 pounds each
  9. I am thankful  that my husband confessed he would love to have an even bigger family (only caveat is how to finance it)
  10. Lastly I am thankful for the beautiful snow that is so rare where we live

Thanks, as always, to the great Lizzi, for making me stop and think for a moment about all that is good in my life.  We’ve had a very rough start to the year but if you take a second to breath you will certainly find many, many things to be thankful.

What are you thankful for?

  1. Now that’s a beautiful list! So much to be thankful for here!

Good beer – especially after a long day Mommy-ing? Yes.
Helpful hands to manage all of those duties? Yes.
And stupid humor? Awesome. That one is definitely LOL-worthy.

    Have a wonderful week!

  2. *Uses finger*

Glad you’re back, and to hear how well things are doing. I nearly choked imagining you as the tanning hag from the film 😀

Glad the babies are doing so well, and that you’re being so brilliantly supported by all around you.

HUZZAH for timely freelance work. Perfect.

Love your return list. Glorious stuff (more photos of babies please, next time 😉 )

  3. Awesome list…took me a minute to figure the spacing issue on the humor…im a bit slight on sun…no babies to keep me alert! Im with lizzi…pics please!

  4. Sleep is certainly worth a super thankful!

It sounds like the babies are growing well. And seriously–you are nearly back to pre-pregnancy weight only 1 month postpartum? After giving birth to twins? That’s impressive!

  5. I just went back and read the birth story, and all I can say is Wow. So happy that you have beautiful, healthy babies and that you are put back together correctly. And that you are close to your pre-pregnancy weight and are getting some sleep and that you, like me, have the sense of humor of a 13 year old boy. Glad you’re back at the TToT!

  6. Almost 10 pounds!?!? That’s a great size for one month old twins.

It feels good to get back to a body more like you are used to, isn’t it? No, it will never be the same, but it’s close. Good for you.

Family who is close enough to help out is a blessing, for sure.

It’s not stupid humor! It’s perfect humor, seeing the funny in all sorts of things. (I say that as someone who found the note quite amusing.)

As for the bigger family, I’m all for them! Not that my vote counts. 🙂

  7. Huzza!! on the baby weight loss. A supportive family is a beautiful gift AND the freedom to say home with those wee bits of love is wonderful.

I love the simplicity and beauty of your list. Thanks!

  8. HOLY WOW! It sounds like you did an awesome job loosing weight. WAY TO GO. Your babies are beautiful. I adore your blog header. I really liked your list. My favorite thing is that your parents help you so much. Having helpful parents is absolutely the best thing in the world.

It was nice to meet you today via your facebook comment on the SITS post. I love visiting new blogs. Wishing you all the best. Give the dog a pat for me! I am super glad he is ok and does not have a tumor.
