This is silly but these two photos crack me up. Sugar is a solid 80 pounds and maybe more. Yes, she is a little chunky or as Steve would say, “She is just big boned.” Well he used to say … Continue reading
Last week I had my TToT almost complete, all about family, when I got sick and couldn’t participate in their 25th anniversary party! But I heard it was a successful blast! I’m going to save that post for next week … Continue reading
There was once a girl who loved her Daddy.
I mean LOVED.
She wants to dress like him, eat like him, talk like him and be with him every second.
It is NOTHING short of adorable.
She will literally ask me if her outfit looks like Daddy’s or is she handsome like Daddy.
The child is a spitting image of me and refuses to believe it so we concede and tell her she looks just like Daddy.
Though the quality of these photos aren’t the best they describe love.
H literally ran around the yard chasing Steve as he mowed the lawn.
She yelled “HI DADDY!” “DADDY HI!” the entire time.
Almost 40 minutes.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. That child loves with everything she has and more.
I pray she never loses her compassion and power.
I have never really given much thought to resolutions but this year my list is long! I don’t know why I am so excited to start a year fresh and full of hope but this is going to be our year. Some of the foolish things on my list are:
OK I can’t go on. None of these are true except the first one…well that’s not even true. I think it’s impossible not to yell at your children when there is more than one and they are at the physical fighting age. Sometimes the only way to break up a crying, screaming, hair pulling match is to just let out a big hearty STOP!
Now my unrealistic resolution list is the following:
OK so they really aren’t resolutions but seriously I think I can train enough to make the majority of number 8 come true, might be able to pay for an awkward number 7, 1 easy, 4 call Cesar but need 9 first. Anyway the true list is as follows.
I have learned that whenever I set goals I set them too broad. This time Steve and I are in them together and we are taking baby steps. I’m really excited!! I feel like we are just going to have a fantastic year! I hope all of you are also!
PS I wrote this post earlier today however I must add that I hope my year, as well as all the people I love, have as sweet a night as I did. After the kids were tucked in S, the dogs and I went to bed to watch Anderson count down. By 11:00 the house was asleep except me, as usual. I then heard the sounds I love to hear every night; L’s feet bringing her sleepiness to my bed. It was 11:30. About ten minutes later H woke up crying. S went to calm her down but ended up bringing her to bed with us. At midnight I looked around my big ol’ bed and my beautiful family was snuggled all up safe and sound. I had to wake each of them to get my kiss. I just felt really happy at that moment….
There are hundreds of smells that I just can’t get enough off, these are just a few. Some you can relate to while others you make think is weird. I love that feeling when a
smell hits your nose and you just stop dead in your tracks and smile. You could smell it every day but then again it’s that once in a while, catching you off guard that really makes the scent great!
1) The smell of the Ocean
2) My husband’s deodorant
3) Dryer sheets my Mom uses (Bounce)
4) A fresh, clean baby
5) A men’s cologne that has a very crisp sharp clean smell but I have no idea what it is but when I randomly smell it I smile
6) My ol’ dog who is no longer alive; funny but even dogs have a unique scent
7) The leaves of a tomato plant
Feel free to add to this list. These were what came to mind today.
Tip O’ the Day: it’s true that you should stop and smell the roses; it’s good for the soul!
Rest in peace my gentle giant. 10-22-2008

There is simply no security like a dog, a big dog. When my husband has to go out of town I feel easy knowing that at least one of my dogs will bark at the slightest sound that is unfamiliar. It may be an annoying habit during nap time but in the middle of the night I sleep sound knowing she is always in protect mode. I realized, aside of the three locks we have on all exterior doors, that I was super nervous one night in October of ’09. What in the world was I getting myself all worked up over? I have Lola upstairs ready to…to continue sleeping should someone break in. So it dawned on me that this was the first time I had been alone since my faithful Bowie. He was a big boy! A gentle giant but don’t step too close to his girl or he would attack and I had no problems letting him do so. That is when I decided that we were getting another dog. We fell in love with an abused little white pit bull. Was it stupid to get an abused puppy when we had twin one year olds running around? Yes, perhaps on a number of accounts but it turned out the girls loved her, she loved the girls and she has been quite the addition to the family. She is big, she is loyal, she is kind but she is protective. If I thought Bowie was going to protect me I was wrong when I see Sug’ step up to the plate. I like it when the UPS, FedEx, Meter reader comes by. Sugar goes crazy and I think to myself as I am dragging her away, you spread the news; this is not a house to mess with. Ha-ha. Another great blessing is she loves the girls. Now the girls can’t climb all over her like dogs we have had in the past but she follows them around and plays with them. If the girls are headed outside I yell to Sug’ to go with them until I finish whatever it is I’m doing. The three of them will grow up together; getting in trouble, venturing off, having a good time. Yes, there is nothing better than a dog, nothing at all.
Tip o’ the Day: before we brought our babies home, we sent my parents to the house with a blanket the girls were wrapped in so the dog had a few days to get used to their scent.
Classic morning in the Bergeman house. One little one awake enjoying her special time
with Mommy when the other one calls in a soft whimper from the top of the
stairs. It’s just the voice of her sister being awake that wreaks havoc, competition, craziness. They both suddenly want my attention. They both want to be held. They both want to sit in the corner of the couch where I always sit and they never do. They both want to pet Lola, not Suga’. They both want to go pee-pee right now. They both want the pink cup. Should I go on?

Tip o’ the Day: make flowers out of construction paper using lot of cut-outs of their hands as the petals. ps don’t cut each one out individually…ahem Kendall, stack a few sheets of paper and cut 5-6 out at a time.
