Bizarro Dave

Do you ever sit back and think “I can’t believe this is happening” or “Wow- that was just crazy?”

Our trip happened to fall over the Saint Patrick’s Day weekend which I love and even more so I love parade day in Ocean City.  All the laughter, drinking, candy, and the wild people dressed up so silly; it is such a fun day.

I guess since I was missing it the next best thing was to be at an awards ceremony on the ship with my husband and this amazing couple we met.

Katie (new buddy that I will stalk forever because she rocks) and I got up early to secure seats pool side and relaxed while chatting the morning away.  Our husbands came to join us with drinks in hand followed by the rest of the hung-over ship a few hours later and the relaxation turned to entertainment!

That evening we had the awards ceremony which was so cool followed by dinner.  Steve and Katie were sick so Jeff and I were catering to them; which was fine, we were enjoying the people watching as we searched the ship for remedies!  It was rather humorous because the ship was swaying from the storm so bad that people were tipping all over the place.

Anyway, we sat down to dinner (in my fantastic Kelly green gown just for the Irish) and a man at our table held out his hand and said “Hi, I’m Dave.”

Tears immediately hit my eyes but didn’t fall.  I was staring at the pale version of Andreas.  He was kind and didn’t mind when I finally said to him, “Please don’t think I’m creepy but you look so much like my friend, I can’t stop looking at you.”

He was fine with that and asked me why when luckily Steve butted in with another topic.  I did get choked up a few times but we had fun and I knew I must have sounded like a complete moron because I wouldn’t stop talking to him.

It’s so weird to me that on a day I love and wishing I was with my girls I was sitting with Andreas instead.

He’s a sneaky Greek he is and I’m so glad because that Dave fella brought the happiest tears and the warmest smile to my heart and he doesn’t even know it.

Cheers Andreas!  Please pop up more often because I still really miss you and you still really make me smile!
